It's a cold day here in Eau Claire. Minus 20 this morning and worse forecasted for tomorrow. Local schools are closed. But we have hardy visitors all scheduled for tomorrow.
So, what goes on in an Admissions Office in between semesters? Well, we're still catching up from the holidays. A lot of applications were submitted and between vacations, December ACT scores beint sent, and new applications, we're swamped. Hang in there if you haven't heard from us. We should be catching up this week.
We're also wrapping up applications for the spring term. All applications - freshmen and transfers - need to be complete by Friday in order for us to get students ready for the spring semester...seems premature to call it "spring" when it's -20, huh? LOL.
We're doing a fair bit of freshman recruiting....chats, newsletters, factsheets, publication review. Just because we're not traveling doesn't mean we can't keep in touch.
For me, I'm working on various reports that are due by the end of the month. There's a lot of exciting stuff happening on campus but it's also a lot of work. We're also working on our software conversion, which is busybusybusy.
So, even in the dead of winter, there's a lot going on here. But we're ready to start seeing buds on the trees......anytime now......:)
Cheers,
Kris
